A daily after-school program for children in Kindergarten through 7th grade, Fortress Literacy Center (FLC) aims to provide a holistic approach to the well-being and growth of southeast Fort Worth’s youth through programs that will help them achieve their full potential in school.

The goals of FLC are to emphasize the importance of literacy, teach social skills, expose the children to life possibilities outside this neighborhood, and to teach and model the love and salvation of Jesus Christ.

FLC provides a structured and safe environment for children and youth during peak youth violence hours. Students participate in the following rotations each day:

FLC is currently serving 62 students, with a waiting list year-round. The program has approximately 30 volunteers per year, with 15% of the volunteers serving on a consistent basis.
