Sarah is a Teacher’s Assistant for the PreK-1st grade classroom. She helps out the lead teacher with the activities that the kids will do for the day. She takes the kids to and from reading and math lab, and she helps with homework time. Mainly, she gets to do what she loves to do and that is hang out with the kids!
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Youth and Family Ministry and a Master of Divinity from Abilene Christian University. She started working at Fortress YDC in August of 2014, but Dani had been asking her to work there for FAR longer than that. Sarah and Dani met while working at Camp of the Hills, and the rest is history! She finally decided to work at Fortress because she moved back to Fort Worth at the last minute after living in Abilene for 6 years. She knew that she wanted to work at a place like Fortress, because she values education so much and she wants everyone to have the same opportunities to succeed.
She loves working with nonprofit organizations because she feels that they really care about the people that they work with, no matter who it is. She has had the opportunity to work with several different types of nonprofits, and that is one of the things they have in common -- they care about what they are doing, and they care about the people they are working with. Fortress is no exception to that, and it is great to work with people who really care about the people they work with and have a genuine desire to see all people succeed.
Sarah lives in Crowley with her parents and her dog, Bella (no, not after Twilight). She loves Doctor Who, Harry Potter and reading.
