Maria is a native Fort Worthain born and raised in the southeast sector of our fair city. Before joining Fortress YDC, Maria worked for MHMR of Tarrant County and The State of Texas for a combined total of 13 years as an administrative assistant. She has an extensive background working in the administrative support field; however, her joy lies in helping people.  

During her time at Fortress, Maria has encountered some amazing people who have a true passion for helping children and families. She shares that same passion, and is looking forward to making a positive impact on the lives of the children in any way she can. 

Maria is married to retired USAF Chief Lee Monk (who likes to be called “Chief”) and is the mother to two adult children who are living out on their own (happy mama!).
