Did you know that our kids can't go trick-or-treating in their own neighborhood? For practical reasons (safety and inability for neighbors to buy candy), kids growing up in the Historic Southside area have to leave their neighborhood and go trick-or-treating elsewhere in the city. That's why Fortress hosts an annual Trunk or Treat right here in the community!
Trunk or Treat volunteers do the following:
Ask your church group, workplace, or friends to join you in bringing a car (or several!) to Fortress that evening.
Decorate your trunk in a (non-scary) Halloween theme.
Bring at least 300 pc. of candy (at last year's Trunk or Treat, we had 250 people attend!).
Dress up for good measure!
The annual Fortress Trunk or Treat provides a safe alternative for our kids to enjoy the holiday with their friends and family right here in their own neighborhood! Sign up to bring your car and candy to help make this special event possible.
Please note: Volunteers should plan to arrive between 5:00-5:45 to set up. Volunteer orientation will be held at 5:45pm. The event will be held outside weather permitting. If the weather is bad, we will move inside and each "car" will be able to set up on a 6-ft table.
