The 2nd annual Honor Guard Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 28 at 8:30am.
The Honor Guard at Fortress is comprised of a group of men who believe that God can use their presence, prayers, and financial contributions to alter the course of the lives of the young men who live in Near Southeast Fort Worth. We're currently seeking 100 men like you to join the first ever Honor Guard. The commitment is simple: Show up. Walk. Pray. Give.
Show Up: Join us on October 28 at 8:30am at Fortress (712 E Stella St) for breakfast and an opening prayer. From there, we'll transport everyone by charter bus to Evans Plaza.
Walk: We will start the walk at Evans Plaza after hearing from our keynote speaker. As a group of men unified in our belief that God has big plans for the kids growing up in the Near Southeast neighborhood, we'll march one mile from Evans Plaza to Fortress.
Pray: We will cover the neighborhood in prayer as we walk. We'll pass historic sites, the Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods, the elementary school where the majority of Fortress students attend, and finally arrive at Fortress.
Give: At the end of the walk, we will be greeted by some of our Fortress boys who will be privileged to accept a $1,000 check from and shake the hand of each member of the Honor Guard. What a blessing for these young men to see firsthand the number of men who believe in him and his potential.
One hundred men giving $1,000 = $100,000 raised for Fortress in one day.
But more than that, 100 men like you showing up in our neighborhood for our kids = immeasurable hope for the next 364 days.
