Join us for the 4th annual Literacy Carnival, sponsored by Junior League Fort Worth. This block party welcomes children from all over Fort Worth, and especially the Near Southeast neighborhood, to come out and celebrate the joy of reading. Families are invited to ome out for free food, carnival games, book giveaways and celebrity readers! Gates open at 10:00am.

Our biggest volunteer event of the year, we are currently recruiting groups to serve food, man carnival booths, run our prize library, help check in families, and more. Volunteer shifts are from 9:00-12:00 and 12:00-3:00. Groups and individuals can sign up by contacting our Program Coordinator, Dani Kocur (dani@fortressydc.org).

We are also booking celebrity readers. Individuals with status in the community (civic leaders, sports figures, and anyone in between) are invited to promote reading and literacy by reading aloud their favorite children's book for a 30-minute time slot. Reach out to Community Relations Coordinator, Ethan Weber (ethan@fortressydc.org) for more details.

Finally, help us collect books to give away to children at this year's carnival. We are specifically seeking books listed on the following flyer. Questions can be directed to Ethan (ethan@fortressydc.org) or Marketing Intern, Michael Ireland (michael@fortressydc.org).
