A Week of Joy and Laughter

What a successful first week back for Summer JAM 2013! This week, Westside Church of Christ from Searcy, AR worked with our 2nd-8th graders while Henryetta Church of Christ from Henryetta, OK worked with our PreK-1st graders. Both of these groups were truly great with our kids, and kept the energy high while we worked through the organized chaos that the first week can bring!

Each day the kids get to play games and work on crafts that they can take home. We also sneak a little math and reading into the middle! Summers at Fortress are a time for our kids to relax and "just be kids," but we like to make sure that they are ready to start school in the fall.
The kids had to use scooters to race "baby Moses" down the nile
Chloe looks like she is having a GREAT time learning math

The kids enjoyed a game of giant fuseball

Teenagers don't mind being used as a tool bench, and our kids love it! The Henryetta youth group did not hesitate to jump right in with the kids.

On Thursday of each week the kids go on a field trip with the visiting youth group. This week the kids got to take a trip to Pump It Up! The kids had enough energy to go around, however it looks like they wore our interns out!

All in all we had a terrific week full of joy and laughter. It is going to be a great summer!
